List of Radios

Welcome to Old Transistors

Thanks for visiting! Within this site are some of my radios in my collection as well as good links and hopefully useful information for fellow collectors.

Please check out my links for other useful sites. Many other enthusiasts have been collecting for a longer time and have much larger collections.

If you have any suggestions or comments about the site, please let me know. It's a work in progress.

Some of my favorite radios, in no particular order, are listed below, many of which are quite affordable.

Hitachi TH-666 What a great design and I love how it feels clunky in the hand. The red TH-666 is just beautiful, and my example works like it was bought yesterday.
Star-Lite Jarmis TRN-174 A small, compact set that is getting very hard to find. I really like the tilted metal strips on the sides.
Mitsubishi 6X-145 I really like Mitsubishis and this one is a great radio, a lot smaller than I thought before I got it. Gorgeous design like other Mitsubishis.
Jefferson Travis JT-E212 Made by Standard, this was one of my first radios and a beautiful example. I don't know of many other radios with this 'raspberry' color. I really like the horizontal pocket radios for some reason. Somewhat rare.
Trancel 6TP-243 Simple but beautiful, also branded under Penney's and Toshiba. Not the easiest to find, but I wouldn't consider rare.
Toshiba 6TP-304 (Coffin) Almost everybody loves this radio and you can see why. Tough to find and not cheap, this is one of the great designs in transitor radio history.
